Мелисса Марс, загадочная французская певица, ворвавшаяся на музыкальное поприще Франции, в 2003 году со своим синглом Papa m'aime pas (Папа меня не любит). Это автобиографическая песня о Мелиссе, которую написала её мать. Девушка росла без отца, была необычным застенчивым ребёнком и жила в Марселе, она выросла, но во многом остаётся прежней.
Дебютный альбом Мелиссы Et Alors! (Ну и что!) вышел 31 марта 2003 года, позже вышел релиз для Японии. Большинство песен в нём написала мать Мелиссы – Lilas Klif, а музыку композитор работающий с Патрисией Каас – Francois Bernheim.
Её тут же начинают сравнивают с Mylene Farmer за качество текстов, c Alizee за дух Лолиты. Эти сравнения необоснованны, и Мелисса сама их отклоняет, но надо признать, что, как первая (Милен Фармер), певица умеет представить особый мир с самого первого альбома, немедленно притянув к себе верную публику.
Нужно отметить необычность клипов Мелиссы.
В начале 2005 года выходит второй альбом певицы La Reine des Abeilles (Королева пчёл), первым синглом с которого стала песня And… I Hate You, автор музыки и слов сама Мелисса.
Позже был дуэт с Lara Fabian - Les Homericains (Гомериканцы), вышедший на альбоме Лары - 9, две песни с Pascal Obispo - La Machine (Машина) и 1980, сингл на последнюю из них вышел в сентябре 2006 года и имел большой успех у публики.
В 2007 году вышел 3-й альбом Мелиссы - A la recherche de l'amour perdu (В поисках потерянной любви).
В 2009 году Мелисса приняла участие в мюзикле Моцарт (Mozart: L'opera Rock) как исполнительница роли Элоизы Вебер.
