В 1972 году некто Lenny Kaye, более всего известный как гитарист и соратник Патти Смит, выпустил двойник Nuggets, компиляцию гаражного рока и психоделии середины 60-ых. В 1998 лейбл Rhino, сохранив ту же идею, выпустил расширенную версию, боксет из 4-х дисков, посвященных американскому материалу. В 2001 появилась вторая часть, на этот раз посвященная британцам (преимущественно), канадцам, японцам, австралийцам, исландцам и бразильцам.
Да, это 4 диска гаражного рока и психоделии, треки которых Rhino насобирал по пыльным архивам. Да, практически нет хитов и ныне известных имен. В этом весь смысл. Zeitgeist, дух эпохи 60-ых (1964-1969 года), чистый и незамутненный.
